Academics Ltd is currently recruiting for a dedicated 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in a welcoming primary school in Slough. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a genuine difference in a child's education and wellbeing.

The Role:

As a 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a pupil who requires additional emotional and behavioural support throughout the school day. You will play a key role in helping the child engage with learning, develop positive coping strategies, and feel safe and supported within the classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEMH needs

* Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies

* Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO and pastoral team

* Help adapt learning activities to meet the pupil's individual needs

* Build a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

* Experience working with children with SEMH, behavioural needs or SEN (school, youth work, care or similar settings)

* A calm, patient and resilient approach

* Strong communication and relationship-building skills

* A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable pupils

* An enhanced DBS on the Update Service

This role is ideal for aspiring Educational Psychologists, SEN teachers, counsellors or therapists, or anyone passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
