1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Macclesfield

Do you have a calm, resilient nature and a desire to make a real difference in a child's life?

We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil with a diagnosis of Autism and ADHD. This role is ideal for someone with personal or family-based experience of special educational needs - particularly those who understand the challenges and rewards that come with supporting neurodiverse children.

About the Pupil

He is a bright, curious and active young boy who thrives on positive relationships and consistent support. When happy and engaged, he is affectionate, funny, and eager to learn. He benefits significantly from structure, clear expectations, and a trusted adult by his side.

At times, Henry's behaviour can be unpredictable, and he requires constant supervision. He may occasionally become physical when dysregulated. However, with the right relationship and consistent boundaries, he shows genuine warmth and potential.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

*

Has personal experience with Autism, ADHD or similar (e.g., through family or lived experience).

*

Remains calm and confident in the face of challenging behaviour.

*

Is physically active and able to match Henry's energy levels.

*

Has a genuine interest in child development and inclusive education.

*

Doesn't necessarily have formal TA qualifications - we value the right mindset and attitude just as highly.

Why Join Us?

*

A small, nurturing village school outside of Macclesifield with a supportive team and strong community values.

*

An opportunity to build a life-changing relationship with a pupil who truly needs you.

*

Ideal for those considering a future in SEN education, therapy or support work.
