An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Accountant to join a well-established organisation based in Kettering. This role sits within the finance team and offers a varied position supporting multiple areas of the business.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will provide financial and accounting support to the UK finance team as well as wider business areas. This is a varied position with the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of accounting responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include:
* Preparation of monthly management accounts and forecasts
* Assisting with the year-end audit, providing documentation and responding to auditor queries
* Maintaining monthly balance sheet reconciliations
* Managing VAT reporting
* Supporting monthly and annual stock takes
* Maintaining the fixed asset register
* Financial analysis and reporting
* Standard costing for equipment/products
* Setting up and maintaining customer accounts
* Sales invoicing for an overseas entity
* Processing expense claims and company credit card statements
* Maintaining foreign currency petty cash
* Assisting with monthly payroll processing
About You
We are looking for an organised and detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.
Essential:
* Proven experience within an accounts/finance department, including involvement in producing monthly management accounts
* Ideally AAT qualified, or part-qualified CIMA / ACCA, or equivalent
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to influence and support colleagues across the business
* Strong Excel skills (intermediate level)
* A team-focused approach
Desirable:
* Experience using Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar systems
* Understanding of consolidation of accounts
* Previous payroll experience
