A welcoming specialist school in Thatcham is seeking an enthusiastic ASD Support Assistant to join their team immediately. This ASD Support Assistant role involves supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder, helping them access learning, build confidence, and develop key social and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support as an ASD Support Assistant
* Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction
* Assist teachers in delivering differentiated learning activities
* Implement strategies tailored to individual pupil needs
* Help create a structured, predictable, and supportive learning environment
This ASD Support Assistant position is ideal for graduates interested in educational psychology, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, or teaching. As an ASD Support Assistant, you will gain valuable experience supporting children with a range of additional needs and learning profiles.
The successful ASD Support Assistant will be patient, compassionate, and eager to learn. Previous experience with autism or SEN is advantageous but not essential.
