We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic ASD Teaching Assistant to join a friendly mainstream primary school in Bath, which has a dedicated SEN resource base specialising in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

In this rewarding role, you will work closely with pupils on a one-to-one basis, supporting their educational, emotional, and social development. You will help them engage fully in the classroom, adapt learning materials to suit their needs, and encourage their independence and confidence.

Job Title: ASD Teaching Assistant

Location: Bath, BA2 (Odd Down), Somerset, UK

Salary: £90 - £100 per day (dependent on experience)

Contract Type: Full-Time or Part-Time, Term Time Only

Start Date: 01 September 2025

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide dedicated one-to-one support to children with ASD within a small class in a specialise resource base

* Assist teachers in creating and delivering engaging, inclusive learning activities

* Promote social and emotional development through positive relationships and structured play

* Track and record student progress, sharing feedback with staff and parents/carers

* Help maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment in line with safeguarding procedures

Requirements:

* Enhanced DBS check (can be arranged if you do not already have one)

* Degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Psychology, Criminology) OR strong academic background (GCSEs in Maths and English) with previous SEN experience

* Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting children with additional needs

* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to individual learning styles
