Academics is delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Newham that is seeking a committed ASD Teaching Assistant to join their team from April 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with additional needs and help them thrive both academically and socially.
Role Details:
* Location: Newham
* Role: ASD Teaching Assistant
* Start Date: April 2026
* Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday
* Pay: £90-£110 per day (dependent on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
*
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
*
Assist pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
*
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies
*
Use structured learning approaches and sensory support techniques to help pupils access the curriculum
*
Promote positive behaviour, independence, and confidence in learning
