Overview
We are seeking a talented and mission-driven Assistant Acoustic Consultant to join a growing team of experts dedicated to delivering innovative solutions in building acoustics. This role offers a competitive salary range of £30,000 - £35,000 and the chance to work on a diverse range of built environment engineering projects, where your expertise will directly contribute to shaping sustainable and acoustically optimized spaces.
Responsibilities
As an Assistant Acoustic Consultant, you will:
* Provide expert advice to clients, architects, and engineers on design issues related to acoustics, noise, and vibration.
* Prepare detailed acoustic design specifications, including calculations, data interpretation, and computer modeling.
* Produce high-quality reports, drawings, figures, and tables to communicate findings and recommendations.
* Attend design meetings and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
* Conduct site visits, inspections, surveys, and acoustic testing, occasionally during evenings or weekends.
* Champion sustainable and zero-carbon design principles in all aspects of your work.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should have:
* A degree in Acoustic Engineering or a related discipline.
* Proven experience in building acoustics within a consultancy environment.
* A strong understanding of environmental and architectural acoustics, as well as MEP acoustics.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide clear, actionable advice to clients and team members.
* A passion for sustainable design and an interest in digital engineering tools and methodologies.
Day-to-Day
Your typical day as an Assistant Acoustic Consultant might include:
* Collaborating with architects and engineers to integrate acoustic solutions into building designs.
* Running acoustic simulations and analysing data to inform project decisions.
* Visiting construction sites to conduct noise surveys or acoustic testing.
* Preparing detailed reports and presenting findings to clients and stakeholders.
* Participating in design meetings to ensure acoustic considerations are seamlessly integrated into projects.
