Graduate / Assistant Building Surveyor

Location: Manchester

Salary: Competitive Salary + APC Support + Benefits

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading multi-disciplinary property consultancy in their search for a Graduate or Assistant Building Surveyor to join their established and dynamic team in Manchester, covering the North West and surrounding regions.

This is a brilliant opportunity for a motivated individual looking to build their career in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment, working on varied and high-profile projects across both the public and private sectors.

You will gain hands-on experience delivering the full range of Building Surveying services and benefit from a structured pathway towards chartership, with excellent mentoring and professional development support.

The Role:

* Assist on a range of projects across multiple sectors (education, government, healthcare, infrastructure)

* Support senior colleagues with project delivery, contract administration and client liaison

* Conduct condition and measured surveys, defect analysis, and prepare technical reports and specifications

* Support in the design and implementation of refurbishment and small to medium capital projects

* Carry out due diligence surveys and professional building surveying services

* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across design, engineering, and project management disciplines

Requirements:

* RICS-accredited BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying or similar

* 1-2 years' relevant experience in a consultancy or client-facing role

* Working towards MRICS/MCIOB

* Experience delivering small to medium capital projects (up to £250k ideally)

* Strong communication skills with a desire to develop client relationships

* Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit is advantageous

* Familiarity with JCT or NEC contracts

* Awareness of CDM 2015 and recent Building Safety Act requirements
