We are delighted to be working in partnership with an exceptional primary school in the London Borough of Wandsworth to recruit an experienced Assistant Headteacher & SENCO for a one-year maternity cover contract commencing in September 2026.
Role Overview
* Position: Assistant Headteacher & SENCO

* Contract: 1-Year Fixed-Term Maternity Cover
* Working Pattern: Part-Time (4 days per week)
* Salary: Leadership Scale L1-L4 (Inner London) - Pro Rata

The Successful Candidate Will:
* Hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or an equivalent SENCO qualification
* Have substantial experience as a SENCO within a primary school setting
* Demonstrate successful leadership experience at Assistant Headteacher level or equivalent
* Have a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current SEND legislation
* Be experienced in writing, reviewing and implementing EHCPs
* Have excellent communication, organisation and team leadership skills
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage SEND provision across the school
* Oversee EHCP applications, annual reviews and intervention programmes
* Support teachers in delivering high-quality inclusive teaching and learning
* Work closely with parents, carers and external professionals
* Monitor pupil progress and ensure appropriate support strategies are in place
