Assistant Planner

Location: Stevenage

Penguin Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a a long-standing architecture and planning consultancy in their search for an assistant planner. They are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Assistant Planner to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will support the planning team in delivering a wide range of planning projects across East Anglia, London, and the M1 Corridor. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong interest in town planning and a desire to contribute to inclusive and sustainable development.

Responsibilities

* Assist in preparing and submitting planning applications

* Conduct research and analysis to support planning projects

* Liaise with stakeholders including local authorities, developers, and community groups

* Contribute to the preparation of planning reports and documents

* Assist in conducting site visits and assessments

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Town Planning, Urban Studies, Geography, or related field

* Understanding of planning legislation and policies

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

* Ability to work effectively in a team environment

* Proficiency in relevant planning software and tools

Day-to-day

* Collaborate with the planning team to develop innovative and sustainable planning solutions

* Engage with local communities and stakeholders to ensure inclusive and diverse input in planning processes

* Support the implementation of environmentally friendly and socially responsible development projects
