Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a very well respected consultancy, in their search for a Senior Planner to join their Leeds office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planning professional to take on a key role within a respected national consultancy, delivering high-quality planning advice across a diverse range of projects.

The Role

As a Senior Planner, you will lead and manage planning applications and development strategies across sectors including residential, commercial, education, healthcare, and mixed-use schemes. You will play an integral role in client management, project delivery, and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

Leading the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals

*

Undertaking detailed site appraisals and providing strategic planning advice

*

Drafting and reviewing Planning Statements and supporting documentation

*

Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact

*

Liaising and negotiating with Local Planning Authorities and consultees

*

Supporting and mentoring junior planners

*

Monitoring changes in planning legislation and policy

Candidate Requirements

*

Degree in Town Planning or related discipline

*

MRTPI qualified

*

Strong experience within consultancy or local authority

*

Commercial awareness and client-facing confidence

*

Excellent report writing and communication skills

*

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
