A leading independent planning consultancy is looking to appoint an Assistant Town Planner to join their growing team in Cheltenham.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded, commercially focused consultancy known for delivering successful outcomes across a diverse range of planning projects - from residential and commercial schemes through to strategic land promotion and regeneration. The Role

You'll support senior planners on a wide variety of projects across the South West and beyond, gaining exposure to the full planning lifecycle. Responsibilities will include:

* Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals

* Supporting site appraisals, planning research, and policy reviews

* Drafting reports, statements, and client advice

* Liaising with local authorities, clients, and consultants

* Contributing to project strategy and delivery

You'll be joining a collaborative, hands-on team that works closely with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary consultants to secure planning permission and unlock development potential.

About You

* RTPI accredited degree (or working towards)

* Previous experience in a consultancy or local authority setting (placement year considered)

* Strong report writing and communication skills

* A proactive, commercially aware mindset

* Keen interest in UK planning policy and development
