Salary: £55,000 - £65,000

Location: London

We are partnering with a long-established, multi-disciplinary building services consultancy that is continuing to grow its London-based Acoustics team. The business delivers specialist acoustic, noise, and vibration advice on major UK developments and complex refurbishment projects, working in close collaboration with design teams from early concept through to delivery.

They are now looking to appoint an Associate Acoustic Consultant to provide senior technical leadership, oversee project and client delivery, and play a strategic role in the continued development of the acoustics offering in London.

The role

At Associate level, you will take responsibility for both technical excellence and team leadership, with involvement across delivery, people management, and client development, including:

*

Leading and overseeing building and architectural acoustics input across all project stages

*

Managing and reviewing environmental noise and vibration assessments for planning and design

*

Providing senior oversight of M&E acoustics work, including complex plant noise and mitigation solutions

*

Directing noise monitoring programmes and ensuring high-quality interpretation and reporting

*

Reviewing, approving, and presenting technical outputs to clients and project stakeholders

*

Working closely with internal disciplines (MEP, sustainability, structures) and managing key external relationships

You will also be instrumental in mentoring, line managing, and developing consultants, setting best practice and technical standards across the team.

About you

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

*

Extensive experience within an acoustic consultancy environment, operating at Principal or Associate level

*

Strong technical credibility paired with a commercially aware, strategic mindset

*

In-depth knowledge of relevant standards and guidance (including BS 4142, BS 8233, BB93 and ProPG)

*

Proven capability with acoustic modelling software such as CadnaA and/or SoundPLAN

*

A strong background in noise monitoring, assessment methodologies, and technical review

*

The ability to manage complex workloads, review team output, and maintain consistently high standards

Desirable experience

*

Corporate IOA membership and progress toward (or achievement of) Chartered status

*

Experience contributing to EIA or Environmental Statement projects

*

Construction noise and vibration experience, including Section 61

*

A proactive interest in business development, work-winning, and long-term client growth

Why apply?

*

A senior leadership position on high-profile London projects across multiple sectors

*

A collaborative, multi-disciplinary consultancy environment with strong internal support

*

A clearly defined progression pathway at Associate and beyond

*

A key role shaping and growing an ambitious acoustics team
