A specialist SEN school in Newbury is seeking a dedicated Autism Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain practical experience working with children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
The school supports pupils aged 4-18 with Autism, communication difficulties, sensory processing needs, and associated social and emotional challenges. Staff provide a structured, nurturing, and highly supportive learning environment tailored to each student's needs.
Key Details:
* Role: Autism Support Assistant
* Location: Newbury
* Salary: £90-£105 per day
* Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
* Start Date: ASAP
* Ideal for: Psychology, Education, Counselling, or Criminology graduates - or those aspiring to work in SEN or therapy
As an Autism Support Assistant, you will:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support
* Assist with communication and social interaction skills
* Support sensory regulation and emotional wellbeing
* Implement structured routines and visual supports
* Work closely with SEN Teachers and Therapists
