Behaviour Mentor - Open to Graduates and Experienced Support Staff

Behaviour Mentor - The Role

In the heart of Newham, a secondary school is looking to appoint a Behaviour Mentor for a permanent position starting in September.

The Headteacher is seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor who is passionate about supporting students' social, emotional, and behavioural development.

The school is known for its supportive Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and strong Progress 8 results across all subjects. Staff benefit from a culture of collaboration, high expectations, and a commitment to professional development. The school actively invests in staff training while providing excellent career progression opportunities for both experienced support staff and graduates looking to pursue a career in education.

For this Behaviour Mentor role, the school would ideally like someone with experience working with young people, particularly those who may display challenging behaviour. The successful candidate will support students on a 1:1 and small group basis, help manage behaviour across the school, and work closely with teaching staff to ensure a positive learning environment.

Behaviour Mentor - The School

This secondary school in Newham caters to approximately 1,100 pupils aged 11-19 and is known for its inclusive, supportive, and ambitious learning environment for both staff and students.

The school benefits from excellent transport links, with easy access via the Elizabeth line, DLR, Jubilee line, and London Overground, along with several reliable bus routes within walking distance of the school.
