Job Title: School Behaviour Teaching Assistant - Romford
Location: Romford, London
Salary: £90 - £105 per day
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only

We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient school behaviour teaching assistant to join one of our supportive secondary schools in Romford. This rewarding role involves working with pupils across KS3 and KS4 within a mainstream secondary setting who may present with challenging behaviour.
As a school behaviour teaching assistant, you will provide one-to-one and small group support, helping students manage their emotions, build confidence, and re-engage with learning. You'll work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to create a positive learning environment where every pupil can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:

Support pupils with challenging behaviour in lessons and around the school.

Implement behaviour management and de-escalation strategies effectively.

Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress.

Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to promote inclusion.

Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to relevant staff.
Requirements:

Experience working with young people with challenging behaviour, ideally within a school, youth work, or pupil referral unit (PRU) setting.

Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
*
A positive, proactive approach to supporting pupils.
*
Ability to commit to a full-time role in the Romford area.
