Building Surveyor / Chartered Building Surveyor

Location: Leeds

Penguin Recruitment is proud to be supporting a multi-disciplinary consultancy in their search for a Building Surveyor or Chartered Building Surveyor to join their vibrant and growing team based in Leeds, working on diverse projects across the North region.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a respected team on a wide variety of public and private sector schemes, ranging from refurbishment projects to complex condition and due diligence surveys. The successful candidate will be delivering a full suite of Building Surveying services while benefiting from strong progression pathways and exposure to high-profile clients.

Whether you're recently chartered or nearing the end of your APC, this position offers long-term development within a forward-thinking and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Deliver Building Surveying and Project Management services across multiple sectors

* Undertake project work including design, specification, contract administration, and refurbishment

* Conduct defect analysis, measured/condition surveys, and due diligence reports

* Liaise directly with clients and manage relationships effectively

* Work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver technically sound, commercially viable solutions

* Contribute to business development and repeat work streams

What We're Looking For:

* RICS-accredited BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying or equivalent

* Chartered (MRICS/MCIOB) or close to completing APC

* Proven experience in both pre- and post-contract project management

* Track record of delivering small to medium projects (ideally up to £1m capex)

* Strong understanding of JCT/NEC contracts

* Confident user of AutoCAD (Revit experience a bonus)

* Familiarity with CDM 2015 and BSA 2023 legislation

* Previous work across sectors such as education, local authority, healthcare, or infrastructure is desirable
