Job Title: Chartered Town Planner

Location: Milton Keynes

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading planning and masterplanning consultancy in their search for a Chartered Town Planner to join a collaborative, people-focused practice where teamwork and professional development sit at the heart of the business.

This opportunity would suit a Chartered Town Planner who is motivated by delivering high-quality places and communities. The practice plans, designs, and facilitates the delivery of residential-led, commercial, and mixed-use development, navigating complex approval processes, environmental considerations, and the realities of implementation.

The Chartered Town Planner will work alongside highly regarded teams in masterplanning, urban design, mapping, and graphic communications, contributing creative thinking, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills. While collaboration is central to the culture, individuals are trusted with autonomy and responsibility in managing their own workload and projects.

Experience and Skills

The consultancy is seeking a Chartered Town Planner with experience gained in either the public or private sector and transferable skills including:

* Preparation and negotiation of planning applications, particularly residential-led and mixed-use schemes

* Negotiating planning permissions, conditions, and Section 106 agreements

* Involvement in policy and plan-making activities

* Shaping land promotion and development strategies

* Working within multi-disciplinary teams to coordinate planning, design, and engineering outputs

As a Chartered Town Planner, you will be passionate about place-making, confident engaging with stakeholders, and comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on project delivery.

What's on Offer

This role would suit a Chartered Town Planner looking to build a fulfilling and long-term career within an inclusive and supportive environment. The business offers structured career progression, strong mentoring, flexible working arrangements, and the benefits of being employee-owned. Staff also enjoy overseas study trips, annual away days, and a wide range of social and cultural activities.

The package is highly competitive and includes performance-related bonuses, enhanced holiday entitlement, an excellent pension scheme, medical insurance, life assurance, and additional lifestyle benefits-making this an excellent opportunity for a Chartered Town Planner seeking both professional growth and a strong workplace culture.
