A new school which is purpose built for children with autism aged 4-11 is welcoming applications from resilient and empathetic hard-workers for their support role. This is an excellent opportunity, particularly if you're transferring from care, are a graduate or have experience within childcare already.

The School is just a 2 minute walk from Hampden Park station and has ample bus links too. There are multiple car shares already operating within the school from areas such as Brighton, Hastings and Uckfield.

Key benefits of the role:

* Progression opportunities into an Unqualified Teacher role within 2 years

* A great stepping stone into Psychology and Care

* Lots of training available in behaviour management, communication strategies and emergency aid

* Funding available for teaching training courses

* Term-time only which means lots of holiday!

* Permanent employment opportunities available

* Secured work 5 days per week (though part-time is also considered)

What can you expect to do on a daily basis?

* Work alongside teachers, therapists and other support staff

* Ensure that equipment and facilities are safe for the children to use

* Preparation of activities and tidying away after

* Developing an understanding with a child to maintain an optimal learning environment

* Report any safeguarding concerns promptly and accurately

What is required of you?

* A genuine desire to work with children with special education needs

* A caring, compassionate and resilient nature

* A 'can-do' attitude but also being pro-active rather than always waiting for direction

* You will require a DBS check (which we can support you with)

* You must not be barred from working with children

* You will have grades A*-C in GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
