Civil Drainage Engineer (Minimum 2 Years' Experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Civil Drainage Engineer with at least 2 years of relevant experience to join our growing consultancy team based in Peterborough. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to develop their career within a supportive and technically focused environment, working on a diverse range of infrastructure and development projects.

Key Responsibilities of this civil engineer position;

* Design and deliver surface water and foul drainage strategies for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

* Prepare drainage calculations, reports, and drawings to support planning and technical approvals.

* Produce drainage layouts and models using industry-standard software (e.g., MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage or similar).

* Liaise with clients, local authorities, and multidisciplinary project teams to coordinate designs.

* Assist with Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)

* Support the preparation of technical submissions for planning and Section 104/106/185 agreements.

* Ensure designs comply with relevant UK standards and regulations.

Requirements

* Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

* Minimum 2 years' experience in drainage design within a consultancy environment.

* Experience with drainage modelling software (e.g., MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, or similar).

* Knowledge of SuDS principles, UK drainage standards, and approval processes.

* Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

* Working towards professional accreditation (e.g., ICE or CIWEM) is desirable.
