Graduate Civil Engineer (Highways & Drainage)

About the Graduate Civil Engineer role;

We are seeking a motivated Graduate Civil Engineer with 1-2 years' experience in highways and drainage design to join a growing consultancy team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your technical skills while working on a diverse range of infrastructure and development projects across the UK.

You'll be working alongside experienced engineers and supporting the delivery of projects from initial concept through to construction. The role offers strong mentoring, exposure to a variety of schemes, and clear progression toward professional chartership.

Key Responsibilities of this Graduate Civil Engineer role;

* Assist in the design of highways, drainage, and external works for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.

* Prepare technical drawings, calculations, and reports.

* Support the preparation of drainage strategies, flood risk assessments, and highway designs.

* Work with design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage.

* Liaise with project teams, clients, and local authorities.

* Support the delivery of projects to programme, budget, and quality standards.

About You

* Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

* 1-2 years' experience in highways and drainage design within a consultancy environment.

* Familiarity with S278, S38, and S104/S106 agreements is desirable.

* Experience using AutoCAD and drainage/highways design software.

* Strong communication and teamwork skills.

* Working towards ICE chartership (or interest in doing so).
