HOURS OF WORK: Mon-Thurs 8:30am-5pm / Fri 9:30am-5pm
BASIC SALARY: £43,000-£50,000

Company Profile
Our client is seeking a Design Engineer to join their engineering and manufacturing organisation based in Kettering on a permanent basis. They design and build recycling equipment, materials handling systems, and bespoke conveyor machinery for a wide range of industrial customers.
In this Design Engineer role, you will:
* Produce 3D models, layouts, and detailed designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
* Design sheet metal and fabricated components for conveyor systems and special-purpose machinery.
* Create GA drawings, BOMs, and support projects from concept to commissioning.
* Integrate machinery and equipment into efficient plant layouts.
* Work with Sales, Projects, Manufacturing, suppliers, and customers.
* Support continuous improvement across design quality, standards, and cost efficiency.
In order to be successful as a Design Engineer you must:
* Have Design or Project Engineering experience.
* Be proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
* Have strong sheet metal and fabricated product design experience (essential).
* Experience with conveyors or special-purpose machinery (desirable).
* Good understanding of regulatory and basic electrical principles.
* Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
* HNC or equivalent in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering.
