Domestic Cleaner / Housekeeper
Location : Potters Bar, EN6
Hours : Initially 2 days per week, with progression to 3 days and potentially full-time based on performance and household needs
Salary : Negotiable
Reporting to : Principal
We are seeking a reliable, discreet, and detail-oriented Domestic Cleaner / Housekeeper to support the smooth running of a private household. This role is ideally suited to someone experienced in similar environments who understands the importance of professionalism, confidentiality, and maintaining exceptional standards.
This is a part-time position initially, with clear progression to additional days and potentially a full-time role for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
* General cleaning of the property to a consistently high standard
* Dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and upkeep of all living areas
* Cleaning and maintaining kitchen areas, including dishes and organisation
* Laundry duties including washing, ironing, folding, and putting away clothing
* Changing bed linen and maintaining bedrooms
* Cleaning bathrooms and sanitary areas
* Organising wardrobes and storage areas where required
* Monitoring household supplies and reporting when replenishment is needed
* Careful handling of delicate items, fabrics, fixtures, and furniture
* Occasional household errands, if required
* Supporting with general household upkeep and presentation
* Carrying out additional tasks as requested by the Principal
Person Specification
* Previous experience working in private households preferred (ideally with UHNW individuals)
* High level of discretion, professionalism, and respect for privacy
* Polite, well-mannered, and presentable
* Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
* Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
* Ability to work independently and use initiative
* Honest and trustworthy, with a strong sense of responsibility
* Good organisational skills
Requirements
* DBS check (required or willingness to obtain)
* Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (essential due to location)
Desirable:
* Experience working with high-end materials and finishes
* Basic understanding of household management
* Flexibility to adapt to changing household needs
