Salary: M1-M6 (Main Pay Scale, pro rata)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 0.6 FTE (3 days per week) - Full-time opportunity available for candidates able to teach an additional subject.

Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated Drama teacher with a passion for inspiring young people through the performing arts? My client is a well-established secondary academy located in Richmond.

Key responsibilities include:

* Planning and delivering engaging, challenging Drama lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

* Developing students' practical performance, creative, and analytical skills through a broad and inspiring curriculum.

* Using a variety of teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners and support progress and attainment.

* Monitoring and assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted support where required.

* Supporting and contributing to school productions, performances, and extracurricular Drama activities.

* Collaborating with colleagues across the department and wider school to enhance teaching practice and curriculum delivery.

* Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining high expectations for all students.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will:

* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching Drama at secondary level.

* Have strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for the performing arts.

* Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage, motivate, and inspire students.

* Show enthusiasm for contributing to extracurricular activities and school productions.

* Have a proactive approach to professional development and collaborative working.

* Possess a good understanding of assessment practices and the effective use of data to support student progress.

Desirable:

* Ability to teach an additional subject at secondary level. Candidates able to offer a second subject may be considered for a full-time position.
