Early Years Teaching Assistant East Kent

Academics in Canterbury are looking for nurturing and reliable Early Years Teaching Assistants to work in Nursery and Reception classes in lovely schools across Canterbury, Thanet, Dover, Whitstable/Herne Bay, Folkestone/Hythe, and surrounding villages. Whether you're looking for full-time, part-time, or flexible day-to-day work, we have opportunities to suit your availability.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support children's learning and development during the most formative stage of their education.

Key Responsibilities:

* Support teachers in delivering creative, play-based activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum

* Provide one-to-one or small group support to children with varying needs

* Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment

* Assist with daily routines, including snack time, toileting, and outdoor play

* Monitor and record children's progress, helping them reach developmental milestones

* Promote children's communication, social skills, and independence

* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff

* Uphold safeguarding policies and contribute to the overall wellbeing of the children

What We Are Looking For:

* Experience working with young children, ideally in an Early Years setting

* A kind, patient, and supportive approach

* A good understanding of the EYFS framework and child development

* Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children and staff

* Flexibility to work across different schools and settings

* Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding practices and a commitment to child welfare

* Right to work in the UK
