Job Title: Engineering Geologist
Location: Warrington
Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 (depending on experience)
An established Consulting Engineers based in Warrington are looking to appoint an Engineering Geologist with around 4 years' consultancy experience to join their expanding ground engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a role with greater responsibility, working across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial and infrastructure projects throughout the North West and wider UK.
The Role
As an Engineering Geologist, you will take ownership of site investigations from mobilisation through to reporting, balancing both site and office-based duties.
Key responsibilities include:
* Designing and managing ground investigation programmes
* Supervising boreholes, trial pits and in-situ testing
* Detailed soil and rock logging to current British Standards
* Coordinating subcontractors and drilling teams
* Preparing factual reports and contributing to interpretative reports
* Basic geotechnical assessments (foundation recommendations, earthworks, slope considerations)
* Client liaison and attending project meetings
* Supporting and mentoring junior team members
Requirements
* 4+ years' experience within a geotechnical/ground investigation consultancy
* Strong site supervision and logging experience
* Experience producing factual reports independently
* Good understanding of UK standards and ground investigation best practice
* Full UK driving licence
* Working towards Chartership (ICE/GeolSoc desirable)
