About your new Engineering Manager role

A leading service organisation is seeking a Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing technical support team of engineers (HGV), both office-based and field-based. This role is pivotal in ensuring quality service delivery, technical excellence, and strong customer relationships.

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for

- Lead and manage a team of HGV support specialists, delivering effective 1:1s, performance reviews, and personal development plans.

- Oversee all technical queries from field engineers, ensuring prompt, accurate support and resolution.

- Drive quality assurance and ensure health and safety compliance across all operations.

- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive site visits and support.

- Support the service team in resolving technical issues and delivering outstanding customer service.

- Identify opportunities for process improvement and staff training through data analysis.

- Ensure all maintenance and repairs follow manufacturer guidelines and internal procedures.

- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments on key projects and service initiatives.

Experience required for Engineering Manager role

- Proven experience in managing engineering support teams.

- Proven automotive/fleet industry experience, on or off highway

- Strong leadership and coaching skills with a focus on performance development.

- Experience in customer relationship management, ideally in automotive or fleet sectors.

- Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.

- A data-driven mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement.

- A full UK driving licence is required.
