About the Role
We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Early Career Teacher (ECT) of English to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school near Braintree from September.
This role is ideal for a motivated individual at the beginning of their teaching career who is eager to inspire a love of language and literature in young people, while developing their teaching practice within a nurturing and collaborative environment. You will join a committed English department focused on delivering engaging and high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential for Key Stage 5).
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging and challenging English lessons
* Inspire students to develop strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
* Assess and monitor student progress in line with school policies
* Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
* Take part in the school's structured ECT induction programme
* Contribute to enrichment opportunities such as literacy initiatives, clubs, or trips
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be on track to achieve it
* A degree in English or a related subject
* A passion for English language and literature
* Strong classroom management skills and a proactive approach
* A commitment to ongoing professional development
