Impact Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Field Service Technician to work with one of our clients on a permanent basis. This position involves working on a range of specialist heavy plant and piling machinery, supporting with servicing, repairs, and diagnostics. Our client is a leading international manufacturer and supplier of construction equipment, offering the chance to join a skilled and supportive engineering team.
Salary: £45,000 - £52,000 (Depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday 7:30am - 6pm
Location: Northampton
Key Responsibilities:
* Service and maintain specialist piling rigs and heavy plant equipment
* Diagnose and repair diesel engines and electronic systems
* Maintain and troubleshoot electro-hydraulic control systems
* Carry out both yard-based and on-site service visits across the UK and Ireland
* Perform hydraulic equipment maintenance and fault finding
* Provide high-level technical support and liaise with customers directly
Requirements & Competencies:
* Previous experience in heavy plant service and maintenance is essential
* Strong mechanical knowledge, particularly with diesel engines and hydraulics
* Electrical and electronic fault-finding experience
* Familiarity with electro-hydraulic systems
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally (and occasionally to Ireland)
* Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work independently
