Financial Controller – Multi-Entity SME Nottingham - Full-time or 4 days/week - £45,000 – £50,000 - QBE or Qualified We are recruiting exclusively on behalf of a growing, entrepreneurial SME in Nottingham who are seeking their first Financial Controller. This is a newly created position driven by sustained business growth, and offers the opportunity to take full ownership of the finance function across multiple entities. Reporting directly to the owner-managers, the successful candidate will lead on all aspects of management accounting, reporting and compliance, while also being happy to support with day-to-day transactional finance when needed. You will have one direct report, with responsibility for mentoring and developing their skillset. This is a hands-on role in a business that values initiative, reliability and a proactive approach. The Role: You’ll oversee and deliver a rounded finance function, including:Preparation of monthly management accounts, financial reporting and commentary for the DirectorsManaging and developing one direct reportOverseeing transactional finance, including purchase and sales ledger, payment runs and bank reconciliationsResponsibility for VAT, CIS and payroll compliance across the groupCash flow forecasting and financial planningSupporting commercial decision-making with clear financial insightsLiaising with external accountants and managing year-end processesEnsuring consolidated reporting across multiple legal entitiesDeveloping and improving financial processes and controls About You: We’re looking for a confident and capable individual, ideally with experience in the construction, property or related sectors. You may be qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience (QBE), what matters most is your ability to run a finance function end-to-end and communicate effectively with business leaders.
