Financial Controller
Location: London/Remote
Salary: £75,000 - £90,000 per annum
Hours: Part Time, 2/3 days per week
Benjamin Edwards is recruiting for a Financial Controller for an established and rapidly growing progressive B-Corp organisation. It is based in London and works internationally. As Financial Controller, you will be pivotal in working with the Directors to grow the business and there will be opportunity for personal development. The Head of Finance would be expected to come to London 2 days a week initially, for the first few months.

The role of Financial Controller:
- Move funds between current and deposit account as required
- Maximise return on surplus funds
- Maintain payment account at a level sufficient to make payments
- Monitor credit card usage
- Prepare quarterly cash flow forecast for Board meeting
- Issue of client invoices
- Ensure Projectworks and Xero chargeable expenses agreed before invoicing
- Chase up clients whose invoices go over TOC
- Ensure that all liabilities are recorded on a timely basis and approved before payment
- Authorise weekly payment run
- Approve employee expenses
- Calculate contractor invoice accrual
- Review and circulate monthly management accounts
- Prepare annual budgets and 6-monthly reforecasts bi-annually
- In conjunction with the accountants, be responsible for the preparation of the statutory accounts
- Liaise with accountants over maintenance and reporting of the Share Option scheme, approval of pricing of options with HMRC, and issue of options
- Liaise with brokers over the renewal of various policies and ensure that there is adequate coverage in all necessary areas, and collate data for and submit any claims
- Liaise with accountants over submission of quarterly VAT return, PIID preparation, and PSA preparation
The ideal candidate for the role of Financial Controller:
- CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified
- Experience of Cloud based accounting packages - ideally Xero, but not compulsory
- Familiarity with Project Management finance/accounting software systems - currently use Projectworks
- Solid understanding of balance sheets and P&L accounts - statutory accounts knowledge not essential
- Budgeting and reforecasting & sales invoicing and credit control experience
- Experience of the treasury function in terms of deposits and FX
