JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Forensic Psychologist / Criminal Justice Psychologist to deliver evidence-based services that support rehabilitation, reduce reoffending and strengthen public protection. You will work across Approved Premises and domestic abuse refuges providing specialist assessment, case formulation and therapeutic intervention.

As a Forensic Psychologist / Criminal Justice Psychologist you will help shape trauma-informed practice, contribute to safeguarding and lead psychologically-informed behaviour change work. You will draw on psychological theory, structured risk assessment and collaborative working to support survivors and perpetrators through stabilisation and accredited programmes.

The organisation is seeking a Forensic Psychologist / Criminal Justice Psychologist who can work autonomously, communicate effectively with partner agencies and support ongoing service development through evaluation, supervision and quality assurance.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Forensic Psychologist / Criminal Justice Psychologist include:

• Psychological Assessment & Formulation: Complete assessments of risk, need and responsivity to guide intervention planning

• Behaviour Change Programmes: Design, deliver and evaluate evidence-based group and one-to-one interventions

• Trauma-Informed Support: Provide stabilisation work and therapeutic input for domestic abuse survivors in refuge settings

• Approved Premises Work: Support risk management, crisis response and multi-disciplinary reviews

• Risk Assessment: Complete structured assessments such as SRP or SAVRY and contribute to robust management plans

• Multi-Agency Collaboration: Participate in MAPPA, safeguarding meetings and joint case planning

• Service Development: Contribute to audits, evaluations and psychologically-informed environments

• Supervision & Quality Assurance: Provide oversight, feedback and capability building for practitioners

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

• Proven experience of working with individuals who pose a risk of harm to others

• Previous experience in delivering individual and group interventions for offending behaviour or trauma

• Knowledge of domestic abuse dynamics, coercive control and trauma-informed practice

• Experience with multi-agency working, safeguarding and public protection

• Strong psychological formulation, communication and case management skills

• Ability to work autonomously across community and refuge settings

• HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist (Forensic or Clinical with relevant experience)

DESIRABLE

• A background in Approved Premises or similar high-risk environments

• Experience working within domestic abuse refuge services

• Training in accredited offending behaviour programmes

• Experience providing supervision or consultancy

• Research or service development skills

• Accredited training in the Stalking Risk Profile
