Geoenvironmental Engineer
Birmingham
£30,000 - £40,000 + Benefits
A well-established environmental and ground engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Geoenvironmental Engineer to join their team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a wide range of brownfield redevelopment and environmental projects across the UK.
The successful candidate will be involved in the delivery of contaminated land and ground investigation projects from initial desk studies through to remediation strategy and validation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertaking Phase 1 Desk Studies and Preliminary Risk Assessments
* Planning and supervising ground investigations
* Soil and groundwater sampling and environmental monitoring
* Producing Phase 2 interpretative reports and detailed risk assessments
* Carrying out human health and controlled waters risk assessments
* Preparing remediation strategies and verification reports
* Liaising with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies
Requirements:
* Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline
* 2-5 years' experience within contaminated land or geoenvironmental consultancy
* Experience with Phase 1 and Phase 2 reporting
* Understanding of UK contaminated land guidance including Environment Agency guidance and CLR11
* Experience supervising ground investigations and environmental sampling
* Strong technical reporting skills
