Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer
Location: Central London (with overseas projects)
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
Are you a Geotechnical Engineer with a strong background in site investigations and contractor-led projects, looking for opportunities to work both in the UK and abroad?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Geotechnical Engineer to join a well-established ground engineering contractor based in Central London. This role is heavily site-focused, offering hands-on involvement in ground investigations, supervision, and delivery of projects overseas alongside UK-based works.
You will work closely with drilling teams, subcontractors, and project managers, gaining exposure to a wide range of ground conditions and investigation techniques across international infrastructure and development projects.
The Role:
As the Geotechnical Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
* Supervising and managing site investigations in the UK and overseas
* Overseeing drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing (CPTs, trial pits, boreholes)
* Logging soil and rock to current standards
* Coordinating site teams, plant, and subcontractors
* Liaising with clients, engineers, and project managers on site
* Contributing to factual and interpretative reporting where required
About You:
* Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or similar
* Experience working for a ground investigation contractor or site-based consultancy
* Strong understanding of site investigation techniques and ground conditions
* Confident working independently on site
* Willingness to travel internationally for project work
