Graduate Geotechnical Engineer - Cambridge
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 (dependent on experience)
A leading engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join their growing team in Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to develop their technical skills across a range of exciting geotechnical projects, working alongside experienced engineers and specialists.
The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of ground investigation, geotechnical design and reporting projects across residential, commercial and infrastructure sectors. You will gain hands-on experience both in the office and on site, developing your understanding of ground conditions, soil behaviour and engineering solutions.
Key responsibilities:
* Assisting with the planning and delivery of ground investigations
* Logging soils and rocks in accordance with industry standards
* Preparing factual and interpretative ground investigation reports
* Supporting geotechnical assessments and calculations
* Carrying out site visits and monitoring works
* Assisting senior engineers with geotechnical design solutions
* Interpreting site investigation data and laboratory test results
* Working with multidisciplinary teams on a range of projects
Requirements:
* BSc or MSc degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering or a related subject
* A strong academic background with an interest in geotechnical engineering
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* A willingness to work both in the office and on site
* Full UK driving licence (or working towards one) would be advantageous
