Graduate Teaching Assistant - Waltham Forest

The Role

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will provide personalised support to students with a variety of needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language challenges. Your role will combine classroom support, mentoring, and behaviour management, working closely with teachers and the school's SENCO to help every child thrive.

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN

* Provide mentoring and guidance to help students manage behaviour and develop social skills

* Assist teachers in planning and delivering tailored learning interventions

* Support a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment

* Track, monitor, and report on student progress

Ideal Candidates

* Graduates with a degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field

* Passionate about supporting students with additional learning needs

* Keen to gain hands-on experience in mentoring, behaviour support, and classroom teaching

* Enthusiastic, resilient, and compassionate

* Experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree (minimum 2:2)

* Strong commitment to supporting pupils with SEN

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* Current DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
