Job Title: Vehicle Technician

Location: Paisley

Salary: £DOE

Shift Pattern: 40 hours per week

 

- Rotating shifts:

 

-

- 6:00am – 2:30pm, Monday to Friday

- 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday

 

- On-call rota: 1 week in 4, including weekend cover.

 

-

- On-call allowance: £15.75 per hour for holding the phone.

- If called out, a minimum of 4 hours paid at time and a half.

- On-call payments are in addition to the basic salary.

Key Responsibilities for this Vehicle Technician role

 

- Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGV vehicles.

- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.

- Complete scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance.

- Carry out brake, safety and diagnostic checks.

- Accurately complete job cards and maintenance records.

- Ensure vehicles are maintained to DVSA and company standards.

- Work safely in line with Health & Safety procedures.

- Participate in the on-call rota as required.

Skills and Knowledge required for the Vehicle Technician

 

- Previous experience maintaining and repairing HGV vehicles.

- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.

- Good mechanical and electrical knowledge.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Strong communication and organisational skills.

- Commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.

Qualifications required for the Vehicle Technician

 

- Level 3 Motor Mechanics qualification (LGV) or

- LGV / HGV Class 3 Licence.
