Head of Operations who has experience managing client relationships, ensuring the team are going that extra mile in delivering an exceptional service is required to lead the company’s commercial cleaning and facilities management services in the South East region.

SALARY: £48,000 per annum / £58,000 OTE + Benefits

LOCATION: South West London (SW4)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 40 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

(Some out of hour’s visits to customer sites within cleaning operations times, which might include early mornings and late evenings will be required)

With the support of three Regional Managers, as the Head of Operations you will oversee the business covering mainly the South East.

Working as the Head of Operations you will lead a team to success and manage client relationships, whilst being responsible for ensuring customers’ expectations are met or exceeded at all times.

DUTIES

Your duties as a Head of Operations will include:

• Strategic Leadership: Contribute to the development and implementation of company-wide strategies, including sales, client management, pricing, and new product offerings. Advise the Operations Director on team capacity and assist in identifying new sales territories

• Operational Management: Oversee all aspects of daily operations, ensuring service delivery meets the highest standards and adheres to contractual requirements. This includes managing team schedules, conducting site visits, and ensuring compliance with all company policies and quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, Safe Contractor)

• Team & Performance Management: Manage, mentor, and train regional managers. Conduct monthly one-to-one meetings, perform skills reviews, and implement development programs. You will also be responsible for managing team capacity, setting and monitoring KPIs, and taking remedial action when targets are not met

• Client & Commercial Management: Proactively manage client relationships, handle all feedback, and conduct tender processes for new and existing customers. Drive revenue growth and ensure profitability through upselling, downselling, and annual price increases

• Process & Systems: Lead the design and implementation of training and operational processes, including managing all internal and external communication workflows. Ensure all documentation, from marketing materials to health and safety files, is current and compliant

• Recruitment & HR: Design and execute the recruitment strategy for regional managers, manage holiday schedules to ensure uninterrupted service, and support disciplinary hearings. You will also be responsible for payroll verification and providing HR with all necessary records

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience in a similar role

• Excellent numeracy skills and knowledge of Excel spreadsheets (e.g. managing profit/loss)

• Proven track record in delivering customer service and going the extra mile

• Experience of managing client relationships

• Experience in and knowledge of the cleaning industry

• Proven track record in similar position

• Clean driving licence

• High level of personal organisation demonstrable in previous role

• Proven ability to make decisions and manage various tasks at the same time

• Demonstrable experience in dealing with staff

• Ability to work flexible hours which will include visiting sites out of hours

Successful candidates will undergo a DBS check, which the company will arrange if not already in place.
