Job Role: HGV Technician
Location: West Bromwich
Pay: £54,500
Shift: 4 on 4 off Days/Nights
Contract: Full time Permanent role
HGV Technician / Fitter / Mechanic opportunity
My client, a well-established fleet maintenance company with depots across the UK is actively seeing to employ an experienced and qualified HGV Technician / Fitter / Mechanic to be based out of a depot in the West Bromwich area to work on a full time permanent basis. Excellent package and benefits to include a £3,000 joining bonus
HGV Technician / Fitter / Mechanic duties
To carry out the safe and efficient inspection, service and repair of all vehicles, trailers and ancillary equipment in line with agreed schedules and operating procedures
- Ensuring repairs are carried out to meet or exceed the minimum standards as laid down by VOSA.
- Carry out duties in a manner consistent with established safety, environmental and maintenance procedures.
- Work with VMU shift Co-ordinator / FLM and Logistics team to ensure vehicle availability in accordance with delivery schedules.
- To achieve shift KPI’s by working in an efficient and effective manner.
- To ensure that vehicles other fleet assets are maintained in accordance with company and VOSA standards.
- Assist the VMU Co-ordinator / FLM to liaise with the Transport and Logistics departments about vehicle availability.
HGV Technician / Fitter / Mechanic qualifications required
- In order to qualify for the role, the successful HGV Technician will have industry recognised qualifications (NVQ or City & Guilds) or be time served on heavies
- You must have detailed experience as an HGV Technician and be familiar with modern commercial vehicles.
