Role: HGV Technician
Shift: Weekly Rotating Shift Pattern:
• Shift A) Monday – Thursday 6am-3 pm Friday 6am- 11am
• Shift B) Monday -Friday 6am-3pm and Saturday 6am-12pm
• Shift C) Monday -Friday 6am -3pm
Location: Lincoln
Salary: £41,200 per year -42.5 hours per week -Overtime paid at x 1.5

My client are a national Fleet Maintenance company who due to consistent growth and contract wins are searching for a HGV Technician to join their team, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, reliability and performance of their fleet. Your primary responsibility will be to carry out thorough inspections, servicing and repairs on vehicles, trailers and all associated equipment. Working to agreed maintenance schedules and following established operating procedures, you will diagnose faults, complete corrective work, and ensure all assets meet legal, safety and operational standards.
You will take ownership of maintaining accurate service records, identifying potential issues before they become problems, and contributing to a high-performing workshop environment. With a strong focus on safety, quality and efficiency, you will help keep our fleet running smoothly and support the business in delivering excellent service to our customers.
Key responsibilities of the HGV Technician:
• Ensuring repairs are carried out to meet or exceed the minimum standards as laid down by VOSA.
• Carry out duties in a manner consistent with established safety, environmental and maintenance procedures.
• Work with VMU shift Co-ordinator / FLM and Logistics team to ensure vehicle availability in accordance with delivery schedules.
• To achieve shift KPI’s by working in an efficient and effective manner.
• To comply with laid down safety procedures, highlighting any noncompliance issues to the VMU Co-ordinator / FLM.
• To ensure the effective use of resources available to carry out specific tasks or duties.
• To ensure that vehicles other fleet assets are maintained in accordance with Company and VOSA standards.
• Assist the VMU Co-ordinator / FLM to liaise with the Transport and Logistics departments about vehicle availability.
• To ensure that established sub-contractors are effectively utilised.
• To work flexibly in carrying out any other VMU duties, as required.
What is required from the successful HGV Technician:
• City and Guilds HGV qualifications or relevant equivalent in HGV Vehicle Crafts.
• LGV Licence C+E.
• Good interpersonal and communications skills
