Salary: Up to £48,000

Shift: Monday – Friday | 8:30am – 5:00pm

Due to continued expansion, they are now seeking a skilled and motivated HGV Technician to join their professional and supportive workshop team.

The Role of the HGV Technician

You will be working alongside a team of experienced and highly skilled technicians, maintaining, and repairing a varied fleet of commercial vehicles and trailers. This is a hands-on role where technical ability, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic are essential.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

- Carrying out vehicle inspections and safety checks

- Completing routine servicing and planned preventative maintenance

- Diagnosing and carrying out reactive repairs when required

- Preparing and presenting vehicles for MOT testing

- Identifying and rectifying running defects

- Ensuring all work is completed to the highest safety and compliance standards

- General workshop duties associated with HGV maintenance and repair

About the Successful HGV Technician

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience working with heavy goods vehicles.

You will ideally have:

 

- Extensive knowledge of HGVs and trailers

- City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)

- Proven experience working as an HGV Technician

- A Class 1 HGV Licence (desirable but not essential)

- A professional and reliable approach with strong attention to detail
