Day shifts: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm and 9am-6pm shifts available – 45 hour weeks

Salary: £20ph- Overtime at x 1.5

I am working with a leading Haulage business who have been operating for over 30 years in the Bathgate area. Due to continued growth my client is seeking a suitably experienced HGV Technician to join their team .The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy goods vehicles, ensuring they are safe and roadworthy. This role requires a strong understanding of HGV mechanical and electrical systems, as well as the ability to communicate with colleagues.

There will be the opportunity to progress into a Supervisory role overseeing the development and progression of 3 x Technicians as well and the day-to-day operations within the Garage.

About the HGV Technician Role

Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics on HGVs to identify issues.

Assemble and disassemble vehicle components as necessary.

Perform equipment repairs, including welding and soldering tasks.

Utilise power tools and machinery safely to carry out repairs and maintenance.

Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.

Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle's condition.

What we are looking for in the successful HGV Technician

Proven experience as an HGV Technician or in a similar role.

Good working knowledge of diesel/petrol powered plant

Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in heavy vehicles.

Ability to use power tools safely and effectively.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

A valid driving licence is preferred but not essential.
