The Role

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistants to join our growing team. Working closely with teachers and other professionals, you will play a key role in supporting students with ASC and/or severe learning difficulties, helping them to achieve their individual learning and development goals.

You will confidently deliver learning activities and lessons under the guidance of teaching staff, whilst contributing to a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.

Essential Requirements

* HLTA status or an equivalent Level 4 qualification.

* Significant experience supporting children or young people with ASC and/or severe learning difficulties.

* Experience delivering lessons or learning activities under the direction of a teacher.

* Knowledge of effective SEN support strategies and tools, including visual timetables, sensory integration approaches, and augmentative communication methods.

* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.

* A caring, calm, patient, and consistent approach to supporting young people.

Desirable Requirements

* Team Teach training or experience with positive behaviour management approaches.

* Experience using PECS, Makaton, or other Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems.

* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures within specialist educational settings.
