Immediate start ** Long term role ** Possible permanent ** Excellent secondary school Intervention Tutors required in a secondary academy based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire.

Generally, the main purpose of an Intervention Tutor is to enable students who are underachieving to reach their target attainment levels by providing coaching and activities outside of the main activities of the wider student group.

Typically, the role of Intervention Tutor will include the following duties:

* Leading 1:1 or small group sessions for students in a core subject area

* Planning and preparing intervention sessions

* Marking and assessing work

* Monitoring and reviewing the progress of students

* Attending departmental meetings

* Supporting revision sessions

Job purpose

The purpose of this position is to support students with their academic work and to raise their progress, attainment and aspirations. Specifically, an intervention tutor will: provide in-class support; tutor both individuals and groups of students outside of the classroom; support intervention tutoring; run extra-curricular activities; and act as exemplary role-models who will help to raise our student's aspirations.

key responsibilities

* To provide in-class support for GCSE and/or A-Level students, working collaboratively with teachers, tutors and other staff.

* To run one-to-one or small-group interventions, generally taking place outside of school hours (including after school, as well as on certain Saturdays or during the school holidays).

You must have a DBS in place or willing to take one out.
