Learning Disability Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? We're looking for a Learning Disability Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing, inclusive school environment, in Walsall -where every child is supported to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

The Job…

As a Learning Disability Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in enabling pupils with a range of needs-including Moderate, Severe, and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (MLD, SLD, PMLD)-to access education in a meaningful way. From supporting with communication, sensory impairments, and medical needs to managing challenging behaviours with empathy and consistency, you'll help create a learning space where every child feels seen, safe, and supported. This rewarding role is based in well-established SEN schools across Walsall.

You'll work closely with teaching and support staff to deliver tailored interventions, celebrate progress (big and small), and contribute to an environment built on patience, trust, and high expectations.

* Experienced working with children with MLD, SLD, PMLD, or other SEN needs

* Familiar with personal care, medical support, and physical needs

* In possession of relevant qualifications

* Passionate, confident, and approachable

* Able to get stuck in!
