Learning Support Assistant East Kent

Academics in Canterbury are seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to support pupils with a variety of learning needs in schools across Canterbury, Thanet, Dover, Whitstable/Herne Bay, Folkestone/Hythe, and surrounding villages. Whether you're looking for full-time, part-time, or flexible day-to-day work, we have opportunities to suit your schedule and experience.

This is a rewarding role where you'll work closely with children who need additional support to access learning and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with additional needs, both inside and outside the classroom

* Assist the class teacher in delivering inclusive, differentiated lessons

* Support children with a range of needs including SEN, emotional or behavioural difficulties, and learning delays

* Foster a positive, nurturing environment that encourages progress and independence

* Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies

* Monitor and record pupil progress and share feedback with teaching staff and SENCOs

* Support with classroom routines, transitions, and pastoral care

* Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote pupil wellbeing at all times

What We Are Looking For:

* Experience working with children, ideally in a school or educational setting

* A compassionate and proactive approach to supporting learners

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

* Flexibility and adaptability to work across different schools and age groups

* Understanding of SEN and inclusive education is highly desirable

* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

* Right to work in the UK
