Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Location: Northampton
Salary: £43,407 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, Rotating Shifts (6:00am - 2:00pm / 2:00pm - 10:00pm) (37.5 hours, Permanent)
Impact Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business based in Northampton.
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a wide range of production machinery, plant equipment and site utilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across production machinery and plant equipment.
* Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
* Maintain site utilities including steam systems, compressed air generation, water circulation systems and hydraulic equipment.
* Service and maintain boilers, compressors, hydraulic units, control valves, pre-expanders and associated plant machinery.
* Respond promptly to production breakdowns, identifying root causes and implementing effective repairs.
* Carry out motor testing, component replacement and machinery diagnostics.
* Complete routine inspections and accurately record all maintenance activities.
* Carry out monthly spare parts stock checks and assist with ordering replacement components.
* Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime and maximise equipment reliability.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant performance and engineering efficiency.
Requirements:
* Electrical and Mechanical Engineering qualification (HNC or equivalent preferred).
* Time-served engineering apprenticeship desirable.
* Previous experience within a manufacturing maintenance environment.
* Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
* Experience working with hydraulic, pneumatic and steam systems.
* Good understanding of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) systems.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills..
