Location: Golders Green

Salary: £28,000

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm

PRS Recruitment are seeking a Maintenance Fabric Operative to support the smooth and safe operation of care home facilities across North London.

You will be responsible for carrying out routine checks, planned preventative maintenance, and assisting with reactive tasks. If you’re a reliable team player with a strong work ethic and a passion for maintaining high standards, we’d love to hear from you.

This role is ideal for a Fabric Technician seeking career progression. In return, you’ll receive a competitive salary of up to £28,000, plus opportunities for training and long-term development.

Key Responsibilities

- Working across care homes in North London, with additional locations as required

- Carrying out various on-site setups

- Providing cover across multiple sites when needed

- Performing garden and outdoor maintenance

- Procuring materials and managing site stock

- Updating all job information via tablet systems

- Reporting issues promptly to the Line Manager

- Completing planned and reactive maintenance tasks

- Performing general handyman duties

- Conducting regular safety and operational checks (fire alarms, plumbing, water systems)

- Assisting with external upkeep, including gritting and snow clearance

- Supporting basic plumbing works (unblocking sinks, fixing leaks, bleeding radiators)

- Assisting with basic electrical tasks within competence (replacing bulbs, visual socket checks)

- Ensuring safe storage of tools and maintaining an organised workshop/maintenance area

Requirements

- City & Guilds qualification in Bricklaying, Plastering, Tiling, Painting & Decorating
