Lead Maintenance Fitter
Sittingbourne
4 on 4 off Shift Pattern | Days & Nights | Overtime Available
We are looking for an experienced Lead Maintenance Fitter to join a fast-paced industrial processing environment, supporting the smooth running of site operations and helping to minimise downtime across the plant.
This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for planned preventative maintenance, reactive breakdown repairs and continuous improvement of machinery and equipment. Working closely with production teams, you will play a key part in ensuring the site operates safely, efficiently and with maximum productivity.
The Role
* Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on plant machinery
* Completing planned preventative maintenance and responding to breakdowns
* Fault finding on mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
* Monitoring equipment performance and identifying improvements to reduce downtime
* Maintaining stock levels of spare parts and reporting shortages
* Completing maintenance reports and shift handovers
* Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with site procedures
* Supporting housekeeping standards within the workshop and operational areas
* Liaising with production, management and fabrication teams when required
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience within a Lead Fitter or Maintenance role
* Background within manufacturing, processing or heavy industry environments
* Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems and PLCs
* MIG welding experience advantageous
* Ability to work proactively and prioritise workload effectively
* Good communication and computer skills
* Strong understanding of health & safety procedures
* Forklift licence beneficial, although training can be provided
Shift Pattern
* 4 on 4 off rotating shift pattern
* 2 day shifts followed by 2 night shifts
* Shift times: 5:00am - 5:00pm / 5:00pm - 5:00am
* 14-day rest break built into the rota across the 8-week cycle
