Are you an experienced Manual Machinist who is passionate about producing precise, high‑quality components? As a Manual Machinist , you will work with autonomy and precision, creating components from technical drawings and contributing to a well organised and efficient workshop.

As a Manual Machinist, you will benefit from:

Working hours of 7:30 to 4:30 Monday to Thursday and 8:00 to 2:00 on Fridays

26 days holiday plus bank holidays, with 3 days reserved for the Christmas shutdown

6‑month probation period

A hands-on, varied position working on one-off and small-batch projects

As a Manual Machinist, your responsibilities will include:

Producing precision components using manual lathes and milling machines from detailed technical drawings

Working to tight tolerances using verniers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment

Following maintenance procedures and reporting machine issues promptly

Supporting the upkeep of a clean, organised, and safe workshop

Completing a mixture of one-off jobs and small batch work with accuracy and independence

As a Manual Machinist, your experience will include:

Proven background as a Manual Machinist , Turner , or Miller , supported by relevant engineering qualifications

Ability to confidently read and interpret technical drawings

Experience working to fine tolerances and using precision measuring equipment

Strong understanding of materials, tooling, and safe machining practices

CNC turning experience would be beneficial, though training can be provided

A self-motivated, quality-focused approach to your work
